Australia federal parliament defeats same-sex bill

Australia’s federal parliament has overwhelmingly voted down a bill that proposed to institute “gay marriage” throughout the country. The bill was resoundingly shut down in a vote of 98 to 42.

The bill did not receive unanimous support from the homosexual community. Homosexual Senator, Dean Smith voted against it, calling his vote “an honest acknowledgement of the special and unique characteristics of the union described as marriage.

We’ve been praying to our Father that He would intervene to protect the definition of marriage “as a union between one man and one woman for life.”

We praise Him for answering our prayers.  He is control.

Let’s not rest on any laurel.  The fact that the Marriage Acts has not been changed does not mean that our marriages are safe.

The Greens promised another onslaught, and State Governments might still ponder the idea of legislating for same-sex marriages.

On top of all, all need to work hard in relation to their marriages.  Let’s put on display to the world the real marriage relationship which reflects the mystery of the relationship between Christ and his Bride, the church.

To God be the glory!
