Grave Diggers

Life is short, and we all face death. There is, however, a difference between causing death and dying naturally.

The grave digger in Shakespeare’s Hamlet concludes, “A grave-maker, the houses that he makes last till doomsday.”

Paradise was a very good place. Adam and Eve did not give it a five-star rating – God Himself declared it “very good”.

There was no death then. Our first parents enjoyed everything good until they plunged the world into a place of misery when they rebelled against God’s law and death became part of life. They indeed became the first grave diggers. Their eldest son, Cain, killed their second son, Abel.

Grave digging has been our part ever since. The rate of digging is increasing. We are counting the cost of turning against God’s law.

Every news bulletin provides abundant proof of moral decay, hateful devastation, and tragedy.

A society without absolute morals is a confused society. The confused accuse the unconfused for the confusion. Gender fluidity gives rise to pronouns of choice. That is not a sign of progress; it is an indication that the moral compass is broken. By tolerating the desires of the confused, society has become grave diggers.

Marriage and family life are disintegrating. We allowed marriage to be redefined, thereby taking the shovels to become grave diggers.

Violence against women is a plague. A deemed solution for this scourge is to appoint female ministers for women who can’t provide a clear definition of what a woman is! Grave diggers can’t prevent death.

Child molestation is worsening. The sexual revolution is surely to be blamed. Public school sex education to minors delivers the bullets for the moral war. Boys growing up without male role models will act out what they see in violent video games and on pornography sites. Juvenile crime in boys is escalating. Older grave diggers are setting the example for the next generation of grave diggers.

Mental disorders accelerate. Medication only inhibits the symptoms, but do not cure the cause.  Policies intended to counteract moral degeneration often boost societal grave digging. Evils are not countered with alternate evils.

Socialistic and humanistic theories and practices indisputably lead to moral and cultural boneyards. The sooner we accept this truth, the better.

The only workable option is to return the Creator and His design for life. What He created is absolutely good. Christ is our second Adam who came to restore what the first Adam destroyed.
